Giving Back
See our History

One of the ways we actively support the community is through sponsorship of local events that celebrate our region’s vibrant culture and emerging talent. Frank Miller Lumber is proud to be a gold-level sponsor of the Union City Arts Festival, a three-day celebration that spans Union City, Indiana and Ohio. This festival shines a spotlight on artists across Darke County, OH and Randolph County, IN, bringing together local and regional talent from across a diverse range of media. The event not only enriches the cultural fabric of our region but also creates meaningful opportunities for artists to share their work and connect with the community.
In addition to supporting the arts, we place a strong emphasis on education and youth development. Whether students go on to careers in agriculture, forestry, or community leadership, we want them to know that their hometown supports them every step of the way.
Giving back isn’t just something Frank Miller Lumber does as a company, it’s a value shared by our employees at every level. Many of our team members have spent decades working here, and that longevity speaks volumes about the kind of culture we’ve cultivated. Our people don’t just take pride in the work they do; they also take pride in the community they live in. Whether it's volunteering at local events, supporting fundraisers, or mentoring young people interested in woodworking and trades, our employees consistently step up to make a difference.
We understand that real community engagement comes from genuine human connection. That’s why we encourage and support our employees in their volunteer efforts and community involvement. From coat drives to school supply donations to holiday charity programs, our team is always finding new ways to give back and lift others up.

At Frank Miller Lumber, our legacy isn’t just about producing the finest quartersawn hardwoods, it’s about the lives we touch and the communities we help strengthen. We believe that every business has a responsibility to serve the people who support it, and we are proud to fulfill that role in Union City and beyond.
We are honored to be woven into the fabric of this region, and we take that responsibility seriously. As we continue to grow, innovate, and lead in our industry, we remain committed to staying grounded in the values that have defined us for over 100 years: quality, integrity, sustainability, and community. Because at the end of the day, it’s not just about the lumber we produce—it’s about the roots we’ve planted right here at home.

We believe that if we take care of our team members, they will take care of the customers. This belief makes Frank Miller Lumber a world-class place to work, right here in Indiana. We give our team members opportunities to grow and succeed.
Many of our employees start out in positions in the sorting and banding departments. Through hard work and dedication, many of our team members create opportunities for themselves and the company, moving up into roles with more responsibility.
